Air Conditioning Engineer

Permanent

£45,000-£50,000

Looking for a field role with autonomy, good earning potential, and the chance to spend time working in Europe? This position covers high-uptime A/C systems for telecom sites, data networks, and remote infrastructure across the North.

You’ll cover the Leeds-Liverpool corridor day-to-day, with a fixed two-weeks-in-France rotation every six weeks. All accommodation, travel, and logistics are handled for you.

What you’ll get

  • £45–50K base (10-hour day incl. travel)
  • Overtime at 1.5x after 10 hours/day
  • Door-to-door
  • Transit Custom van with private use
  • 2-week France rotation every 6 weeks
  • On-call 1-in-7 (£150/week)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • All PPE, phone, tablet and kit provided
  • Small, well-organised engineering team with solid structure
  • Manufacturer training

The work

You’ll be looking after VRV/VRF and split A/C systems across telecom cabins, broadcast hubs, and light infrastructure sites, with a mix that leans heavily toward diagnostics and reactive work. There’s some planned maintenance in the mix and occasional exposure to chillers, though this isn’t a chiller-focused role. When you’re not in France, you’ll also take part in the UK on-call rota, supporting unmanned sites with tight SLAs.

What you’ll need

  • F-Gas
  • Good VRV/VRF diagnostics skills
  • Commercial or telecoms A/C background
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable working solo and managing a varied workload
  • Happy to commit to the fixed France rotation and handle UK callouts when home
