If you’re a strong A/C service engineer and you want a clear route into leadership and eventually fully off the tools, this is set up as that move.
They need a service-side lead for a small A/C team. The role starts as a working supervisor with a 60/40 split (office / site) so you can keep your technical edge while you learn the coordination and leadership side properly – with the intention that, as you bed in, the balance shifts further toward supervision.
They’re a long-established building services contractor working mainly across commercial sites (some industrial too), and they’re now part of a larger group — so it’s not a small domestic outfit, and there’s proper backing for training and progression.
It’s not a national travelling job. The patch is mainly Peterborough and surrounding Cambridgeshire down to Huntingdon.
What’s on offer
- £48,500 basic
- OT: 1.5x after 40 hrs + Saturdays | 2.0x Sundays + Bank Holidays
- 22 days holiday + Bank Holidays
- Van + fuel card (personal use optional; taxable)
- Optional on-call for extra earnings (1 in 10, £150 standby, min 4 hours paid if called out)
- Manufacturer training available
The role
You’ll be the technical escalation point when faults get messy — VRV/VRF, AHUs/air handlers, mixed commercial systems — and you’ll support engineers to diagnose properly rather than just firefight. On the office side you’ll help plan and prioritise work, keep jobs moving, and keep standards consistent: quality, customer updates, safe working, and jobs closed out properly.
What you’ll need
- Strong commercial A/C service + fault-finding (not just PPM)
- Comfortable across multiple manufacturers (mixed estates)
- Confident supporting/mentoring other engineers
- Full UK driving licence
