Liquid Cooling Engineer – Critical Cooling

Permanent

€50,000 - €60,000

3MW CDUs. Rack-mounted liquid cooling. AI-driven hyperscale data centres. If you’re a liquid cooling engineer looking for serious project work, this is worth reading.

The pipeline is already live, which means hands-on project involvement from day one. Rack-mounted CDUs being commissioned now in Barcelona. Large in-row CDUs in Alava. Liquid-to-air systems in Zaragoza coming online in 2027. You’ll be working across all three sites, commissioning and supporting some of the largest and most technically complex cooling infrastructure being deployed in Europe right now.

The technology is liquid-to-chip and liquid-to-liquid cooling – the systems hyperscale data centres running AI workloads depend on. You don’t need to have worked on this exact kit before. However, you do need a strong foundation in critical cooling – chilled water, hydronic infrastructure, integrated commissioning – and the technical ability to get across complex mechanical systems quickly. Because the projects are live and moving, direct manufacturer training on the systems comes with the role.

Day to day, you’ll commission and test CDUs, manifolds, pumps, valves, and thermal loops. You’ll also troubleshoot flow, pressure, and thermal performance issues, and work alongside controls, BMS, and PLC specialists. The documentation and handover packs that close projects out properly are part of the job too. This isn’t PPM work or small-scale servicing – the projects are substantial and technically involved, so the expectation is that you bring real commissioning experience to them.

What you’ll need as a liquid cooling engineer

A strong background in HVAC, AC, or critical cooling commissioning. Solid knowledge of chilled water systems and hydronic cooling. Proven experience with integrated systems testing. Spanish language proficiency is required – any nationality is welcome. You’ll also need to be comfortable travelling between Barcelona, Alava, and Zaragoza, with occasional European travel alongside.

What you’ll get

  • €50,000 – €60,000 base salary
  • Competitive benefits package in line with Spanish market standards
  • Direct manufacturer training on next-generation liquid cooling systems
  • Career development within a global organisation operating in more than 160 countries
