If you’re a field service engineer with good electrical experience, this one’s worth a look. It’s a Battery Storage Engineer role with a UK manufacturer, covering the Midlands, and a lot of the faults get diagnosed remotely before anyone gets in the van.
When you do go out, you own the job start to finish. You run your own diary and you’re paid from the moment you leave the house.
What the Battery Storage Engineer role involves
The equipment is containerised hybrid power. Lithium battery banks, inverters, battery management systems, control panels and remote monitoring in one unit. They go on construction and infrastructure sites to replace diesel generators or run alongside them.
You’ll service and maintain units across the hire fleet and customer-owned kit. You’ll commission new units, diagnose electrical faults remotely and on site, and attend breakdowns when a remote fix hasn’t worked.
It’s electrical work. Inverters, control panels and schematics are the job. Engines and fuel systems aren’t.

Who you’d be working for
They design, build and deploy battery-based hybrid power systems in the UK. The kit goes into construction, infrastructure, rail, utilities and events.
It’s a growing specialist manufacturer, not a facilities contractor. You’re trained properly on the product, and there’s more to learn as the range grows.
